WHO WE ARE

Lissa {owner/lead photographer}
OUTGOING. SMILEY. ENTHUSIASTIC. FUN. ADVENTUROUS. SILLY. SEEKER OF THE UNIQUE IMAGE. INSPIRED. STORY TELLER. PASSIONATE. SPONTANEOUS. LIKEABLE… YEP, THAT’S ME!
I have a great love for photography, which started in college, most refer to it as my “obsession”. My love of photography grew as I traveled the world throughout college and after. I spent many years in front of the camera modeling and at one point my desire grew even stronger to be behind the camera. Realizing how fast time goes by I began capturing the moments allowing them to last forever. I love “real” moments, but I also love capturing images that allow you to feel like you just stepped out of a magazine. I do not limit myself to one style, instead I am DIVERSE, I adapt to those in front of me, using all different methods to capture the image. I have studied photography for over a decade, but it does not stop there. I continue to take classes, participate in workshops, read magazines/books/online information to learn new techniques and incorporate the latest styles, trends, technology into my work. In the end it is the excitement I see on an individuals face when I show them images we have captured that is the fuel for my fire! I am an over-acheiver, I expect only the best of myself and I am determined to give you my best!
I am a wife and mother of 3 amazing kids. I have my camera with me ALWAYS! I am a girl who LOVES adventure. I am an adrenalin junky {taking my first plunge bungy jumping at age 11}, quite possibly an extreme sports fanatic. I am a snowmobile stunt double, a test rider. I wakeboard, hunt, fish, golf, ride dirtbikes & four wheelers. I played hockey for many years, trained at the Olympic Training Centers and now coach hockey. I played soccer, softball and golf in college. Though I can’t hold a note, I love music, all genres of it. I am originally from lower Michigan. I met my husband while we were both racing snowmobiles professionally. I am a grand-daughter, a daughter, a little sister, a sister-in-law, an aunt. I am a simple girl most commonly seen in my blue jeans, a t-shirt, and a pair of flip flops.
Darcie {assistant/photographer}
OUTGOING. SINCERE. ENTHUSIASTIC. FUNNY. LOYAL. CAPTURER OF THE MOMENT. DETAIL ORIENTED “OCD”. ORGANIZER. WORLD TRAVELER. PASSIONATE. LIKEABLE… YEP, THAT’S ME!
It is the excitment of being a part of someone’s life and capturing those moments we can’t get back but instead relive through photographs that drives me to pick up the camera. The emotions, milestones and memories I have been a part of so far feeds my passion for the art of photography. When catching those moments… there’s this high we get as historians of your life. I didn’t find photography as other photographers often do. I was gifted a camera to photograph real estate and found it boring. Turned the camera on my babies to document their lives and it hit me, I found my nitch. I see emotion, the beautiful moments when people do not realize they are being photographed. I dove head first into learning the technical side of photography… taking classes, hiring mentors, reading everything I could get my hands on. The “passion” I have for the art lies in the challenge, no matter how much I learn there is always more. The excitement never ends.
I am a wife and mother of 3 incredible little girls. I am a girl who LOVES to drive around with the top down on my Jeep. I traveled around the world working as a flight attendant. I enjoy our vacations to a remote location in the Mayan Riveria. Call me fickle, I love the sun and snow. I am originally from Wisconsin, but now call Minnesota home. I am a diehard VIKINGS fan. I am a grand-daughter, a daughter, a big sister, a sister-in-law, an aunt. I am a simple girl most commonly seen in my blue jeans, a comfy top, with my hair pulled up, and barefeet.
Darcie’s RoleThere is 1 question Darcie and I are always asked when we are together… “Are you two sisters”? The answer… “No, we are not ”sisters”, but we are the sisters neither of us had! I have always been a believer that “all things happen for a reason” and that’s exactly how it worked out for us. The long story short, Darcie and I have known eachother since my husband and I were married. She was originally my husbands friend, a guest at our wedding, and we were guests at their wedding. For years we both heard a lot about eachother, always the comparisons of how similar we were in looks and personality. The first time we really had a chance to talk, we completely clicked and there was an energy that was infectious. Fast forward a few years. Darcie was working on her passion to become a photographer when my scheduled assistant informed me 5 days prior to a wedding that she was now unavailable. I immediately phoned Darcie! In true Darcie fashion she cleared her schedule and our journey began as a team. Our excitement and passion for capturing life with photography feeds off one another. There is never a dull moment, nor a quiet moment! Darcie is most often seen assisting/photographing weddings and events with me. Behind the scenes I turn to Darcie to bounce ideas off of for sessions, weddings, business directions and much more!
